You Probably Don’t Want To Know How Astronauts Go To The Bathroom Aboard The International Space Station

Okay call me weird, but I found this fascinating…Maybe it was the accent?

UPROXX

Ever wonder how one goes about using an International Space Station toilet? Thanks to Italian European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, we now have our answer. The word “unglamorous” comes to mind, but it would probably be a massive understatement.

Let’s just say the whole process involves a long suction hose that goes near your private bits and a toilet “seat” that looks more like something out of a torture chamber. The best/worst part? After a lengthy recycling process, you get to drink your pee later (and possibly enjoy a hot cup of espresso)!
